Carpet Cleaning Brent Service Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaning Brent supplies carpet and related cleaning services to customers within its service area. By booking a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.

Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:

Customer means the person, firm or company who requests and books the services.

Company means Carpet Cleaning Brent, the service provider supplying the services.

Services means carpet cleaning and any additional cleaning or related services agreed between the Customer and the Company.

Premises means the residential or commercial property where the services are to be carried out.

Technician means any employee, contractor or representative of the Company who performs the services.

Scope of Services

The Company provides professional carpet cleaning and related services within its designated service area, including but not limited to Brent and surrounding districts. The exact scope of the services to be provided will be confirmed at the time of booking, based on the information supplied by the Customer.

The Company may offer additional services such as rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, spot and stain treatment, deodorising, and other associated services. Any such additional services must be agreed in advance and may be subject to separate or additional charges.

Booking Process

Bookings can be made by the Customer through the Company’s accepted communication channels as advertised on its official materials. A booking is not confirmed until the Company has accepted the request and provided confirmation of the appointment details.

When requesting a booking, the Customer must provide accurate and complete information, including but not limited to the property type, number and size of rooms or items to be cleaned, type and condition of carpets, access details, parking availability, and any special requirements. The Company will rely on this information to estimate the time and cost of the services.

The Company reserves the right to decline or cancel a booking request where it reasonably believes that the services cannot be safely or appropriately carried out, or where the information provided by the Customer is incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading.

Bookings are subject to the availability of technicians and equipment. The Company will use reasonable endeavours to attend at the agreed date and time but does not guarantee exact arrival times. Any time given for arrival is an estimate only.

Access and Customer Obligations

The Customer must ensure that the Premises are accessible at the agreed appointment time. This includes providing keys, entry codes, or the presence of an authorised adult to grant access. If the technician is unable to gain access due to the Customer’s act or omission, this may be treated as a late cancellation and charges may apply.

The Customer must ensure that there is adequate lighting, electricity, and hot water available at the Premises for the duration of the services. The Customer must also ensure that the areas to be cleaned are reasonably clear of clutter, breakable items, and obstacles that could impede access or create a health and safety risk.

The Customer must inform the Company in advance of any particular hazards at the Premises, such as loose floor coverings, exposed wiring, water leaks, or other issues that might affect the safe performance of the services.

The Customer is responsible for securing and removing any valuable, fragile, or irreplaceable items from the areas to be cleaned. The Company will not be liable for damage to such items that were not removed or adequately protected by the Customer prior to the appointment.

Pricing and Quotations

Prices for services are generally provided based on the information supplied by the Customer and may be quoted as a fixed price or on another clear basis. All quotations are given in good faith but are subject to revision if the information provided by the Customer is inaccurate or if the condition or size of the carpets or areas differs significantly from what was described.

If, upon arrival at the Premises, the technician identifies that the job is materially different from what was quoted, the Company will inform the Customer and may offer a revised quotation. If the Customer does not accept the revised quotation, the Company may cancel the service, and the Customer may be liable for a call-out or cancellation charge.

All prices are stated inclusive or exclusive of VAT according to the Company’s prevailing practice and any applicable tax laws. Where applicable, VAT will be charged at the prevailing rate at the time services are supplied.

Payments

Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the services on the day of the appointment. The Company accepts the payment methods it has notified to the Customer in advance, which may include cashless and electronic options.

For certain bookings, including larger commercial jobs or high-value residential work, the Company may require a deposit or full prepayment before the appointment date. Any such requirement will be communicated to the Customer at the time of booking. Deposits may be non-refundable in certain circumstances as set out in these Terms and Conditions.

If payment is not received when due, the Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts from the due date until payment is received in full. The Company may also suspend or refuse further services until all outstanding amounts are paid.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by providing notice to the Company through its accepted communication channels. The following terms will generally apply unless otherwise stated at the time of booking.

If the Customer cancels or reschedules with more than 48 hours notice before the agreed appointment time, no cancellation fee will usually be charged, and any deposit paid may be applied to a future booking or refunded at the Company’s discretion.

If the Customer cancels or reschedules with less than 48 hours notice, the Company may charge a late cancellation fee, which may be a fixed amount or a percentage of the quoted service price. This is to cover allocated time, resources, and lost opportunities for the Company.

If the technician attends the Premises at the agreed time but is unable to gain access or commence work due to the Customer’s act or omission, this may be treated as a same-day cancellation and a call-out or full-service charge may apply.

The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking where it is unable to fulfil the appointment due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to equipment failure, staff illness, severe weather, or transport disruption. In such cases, the Company will offer an alternative appointment. If no suitable alternative can be agreed, the Customer will be entitled to a refund of any prepayment or deposit relating to the cancelled services.

Quality of Service and Limitations

The Company aims to provide services with reasonable care and skill in accordance with industry standards. However, the results of carpet cleaning can vary depending on factors such as the age and type of carpet fibres, intensity and nature of stains, previous cleaning methods used, and general wear and tear.

The Company does not guarantee that every stain or mark will be removed, nor that the carpet will be restored to a like-new condition. Some stains may be permanent, and certain issues such as sun fading, pile distortion, or previous damage may become more visible after cleaning.

The Customer is advised to inform the technician of any known issues with the carpets, including previous stains or treatments, colour-run risk, shrinkage history, or manufacturer warnings. The Company will not be liable for damage or issues arising from undisclosed information or pre-existing faults.

Customer Inspection and Complaints

Upon completion of the services, the Customer or an authorised representative should, where reasonably practicable, inspect the work carried out. Any concerns about the quality or completeness of the services should be raised with the technician at that time.

If the Customer has a complaint after the technician has left the Premises, they should contact the Company as soon as reasonably possible, providing details of the issue along with any relevant evidence. The Company will investigate and, if appropriate, may arrange for a technician to revisit the Premises to address the concern.

Any request for a re-clean or adjustment must normally be made within a reasonable period after the service date. The Company will act fairly in considering complaints but will not be obliged to provide a refund or free re-clean where it reasonably considers that the services were carried out with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Liability

The Company will exercise reasonable care when performing the services and handling the Customer’s property. However, the Company’s liability is subject to the limitations set out below, to the extent permitted by law.

The Company will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Customer, including misrepresentation of the type, size, or condition of the carpet or Premises.

The Company will not be liable for pre-existing damage, wear, or defects in carpets, rugs, upholstery, or other items, or for issues that become more apparent following cleaning, such as shading, pile reversal, or colour variations.

The Company will not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss, including loss of profits, loss of opportunity, or loss of enjoyment, arising from the provision or non-provision of the services.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes the Company’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under UK law.

Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations

The Company will comply with applicable UK regulations relating to the handling, storage, and disposal of waste and cleaning solutions generated in the course of providing the services. Used cleaning solutions, extracted waste water, and any associated waste will be managed in a way that minimises environmental impact and meets regulatory standards.

The Customer agrees not to request or require the Company or its technicians to dispose of waste or cleaning by-products in an unlawful or inappropriate manner, including but not limited to pouring waste liquids into surface drains or areas not designated for such use.

Where the services involve the removal of physical waste, such as packaging or minor debris, the Company will inform the Customer if any additional charges apply for lawful disposal. The Customer remains responsible for any waste generated independently of the services.

Health and Safety

The Company takes health and safety seriously and will use cleaning products and equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and relevant safety regulations. Some treatments may require carpets or areas to remain unused for a short period to allow drying or curing.

The Customer must follow any reasonable instructions given by the technician regarding temporary restricted access, ventilation, or the safe use of the cleaned areas. The Company will not be liable for any injury or damage resulting from failure by the Customer or occupants to follow such instructions.

Force Majeure

The Company will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms and Conditions where such delay or failure is caused by events beyond its reasonable control. Such events may include, but are not limited to, extreme weather, flooding, fire, strikes, labour disputes, public transport failures, pandemics, or acts of government or public authorities.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter or formation.

Amendments to These Terms

The Company reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, industry practices, or the Company’s operations. The version in force at the time of the Customer’s booking will apply to that booking.

The Customer is encouraged to review the latest Terms and Conditions before making a booking. Continued use of the Company’s services following any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be taken as acceptance of the updated terms.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written booking confirmation and any additional terms expressly agreed in writing between the Company and the Customer, constitute the entire agreement between the parties in relation to the services and supersede any previous understandings, arrangements, or representations, whether oral or written.

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by a court or competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
